Darshan in the Temple Re-Opens after Five Days










Tirumala, 27 April 2019: The Agamic ritual, Astabandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam was observed in Sri Varaha Swamy temple on Saturday in the auspicious Karkataka Laganam between 11.07am and 1.16pm in Tirumala.

The team of Ritwiks, temple priests, Agama advisors led by Chief Priest of Tirumala temple Sri Venugopala Deekshitulu performed series of religious events by chanting relevant mantras and transferred the divine power back in the deities and Vimana Gopuram. When they were performing Mahasamprokshanam to Vimanam, the priests chanted sloka to invoke the four deities residing in Vimanam-"Vimanam Prapadhye, Vishnumayam Prapadhya, Devavasam Prapadhye, Vaikuntham Prapadhye".

After invoking the deities from Kumbham to Bimbam, the priests recited subsequent mantras pertaining to other 24 deities (Avarana Devatas) residing in the premises of the temple, said the Chief Priest. He also said special pujas were performed to deities in 12 Jeeva Sthanams and 48 Kalas and later Naivedyam has been rendered to all the deities.

On the other hand, TTD has renovated the temple and has given a new look to the Varaha Swamy temple after Kalakarshana on April 23 night. As a part of the renovation, three Makara Toranams with gold malam, were set to the sub-temples of Sri Ramanujacharya, Sri Vishwaksenulavaru and Sri Pushkarini Anjaneya Swamy at a cost of Rs.7lakhs.

Later in the night the procession of Sri Varaha Swamy took place from the temple covering four mada streets between 7pm and 9pm.

TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal speaking to media persons said, that the Maha Samprokshanam in Sri Varaha Swamy temple was done now after 1982. "Blessed to be a part in this unique and rare ritual", he added. 

Later he said, the measurements to go gold plating for Vimana Gopuram have also been taken. I congratulate all the engineering officials for their efforts to give new look to the ancient temple and my sincere respects to all the Acharya Purushas who performed this ritual", he added.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, Temple DyEO Sri Harindranath and other officials were also present.
