Tirupati, 7 Apr. 19: A grand Shoba Yatra of Srivari Jewels were held on Sunday evening from TTD Administrative building up to Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple for adoring the Lord Sri Rama on Garuda vahanam as part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati.
It is customary that some priceless jewels from Srivari temple will be gifted to sub temples for adorning the utsava idol during auspicious Garuda vahanam.
Speaking on the occasion EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal said, about three precious jewels from the coffers of Tirumala shrine including Saligrama haram, Chandra haram and karnapathakams worth around Rs.40lakhs are being donated to Lord Sri Rama which will be adorned for Garuda Seva in the night.
He said elaborate arrangements including anna prasadam; water distribution, hassle free darshanam and bundobust for Garuda seva have been made by TTD for the big day.
Description of jewels:
The jewels included Golden Saligrama necklace weighing over 666 grams and 270 mg, Gold Chandra haram with two petas weighing 332 grams and gold karnapathakams with precious stones weighing 374 grams.
Tirupati JEO Sri B Lakshmi Kantham, DyEOs Sri EC Sreedhar, Sri Damodaram and others were also present.
