Floral Tributes Paid to Vengamamba

Tirupati, 17 May 19: Floral tributes paid to the statue of Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba located at MR Palle Circle in Tirupati on Friday in connection with the 289th Jayanthi celebrations of the Saint Poetess.

AT ANNAMACHARYA KALAMANDIRAM

Later at Annamacharya Kalamandiram, literary meetings were held with renowned scholars on the life and works of the saint poetess.

Tirupati JEO Sri B Lakshmikantham who participated in this literary fete advocated that Vengamamba pioneered Annaprasadam in Tirumala and became role model to women empowerment about 300 years itself fighting against all social evils which prevailed during those days.

Later he felicitated all the scholars who spoke on the occasion. Vengamamba Project Special Officer Dr KJ Krishnamurthy was also present.
