Prasanna Venkateswara Marches on Mammoth Chariot











Appalayagunta, 20 Jun. 19: On day Eighth day morning on Thursday during the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta, the utsava deity of Lord mused his devouts on the sacred Ratham flanked by His two consorts on either sides.

The imperial parade on the Mada streets to the accompaniment of Bhakti bhajans, kolatas and devotees chanting Govinda, Govinda and dragging the divine Ratham was a cosmic spectacle for the devotees who gathered in large numbers.

Sri Prasanna Venkateswara was seated on the colourfully decorated wooden chariot during the fête, as devotees flocked to pull the rope of the mammoth chariot. 

On the occasion, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) made elaborate security arrangements with the help of police, ‘Srivari Sevakulu’ and vigilance sleuths to prevent any untoward incidents during the procession.

The chariot was tastefully decorated with different varieties of flowers, flags and festoons. The dance troupes added glamour to the procession.

TTD JEO Sri B Lakshmikantham, Temple DyEO Smt Jhansi Rani,  AEO Sri Subramanyam,  Superintendent  Sri Gopala Krishna Reddy, and others were also present.
