Krishnastami Celebrated in Tirumala

Tirumala, 23 Aug. 19: The annual festival Sri Krishnastami was celebrated with religious fervour in Tirumala on Friday.

Special Abhishekam was performed to the Kaliya Mardana Sri Krishna at Gogarbham Gardens in Tirumala under the aegis of Garden wing of TTD.

Deputy Director of Garden department Sri Srinivasulu performed the Abhishekam with milk, curd, honey, turmeric and coconut water. 

This was followed by Utlotsavam were in enthusiastic youth took part in this traditional mud pot breaking fete.

Spl.Gr.DyEO Smt Parvathi, KKC DyEO Smt Nagaratna and other officers were also present.

GOPUJA PERFORMED

The Gopujotsavam was performed with celestial fervour in Tirumala Gosala. The cattle were finely decked and rendered special puja on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmastami.

IN TIRUMALA TEMPLE

In view of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Asthanam was performed in Tirumala temple on Friday night between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

On Saturday Utlotsavam will be observed in Tirumala between 4 pm and 8 pm.
