Speaking at the
'Raksha Bandhan' programme organised on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima at Durbar
Hall, Raj Bhavan on Thursday, Governor Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan said that 'Raksha
Bandhan' is an auspicious event celebrated all over India with sisters tying
Rakhis to brothers, seeking their protection and blessings. He said that
similarly sisters should extend their love and affection towards brothers also.
It is celebration of occasions like these that bind families together, said the
Governor. He wished peace and happiness to people of Telangana.
As every year,
'Raksha Bandhan' programme organised at Raj Bhavan saw about 500 students
from different schools in Twin Cities participated in the
programme and tie Rakhis to the Governor. Governor Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan and
Lady Governor Smt. Vimala Narasimhan, actively interacted with small children
and school students who came to wish them.
