The
trainee Civil Servants belonging to 15 All India Services and Central Civil
Services and representing 22 Sates from across the country, who are attending
the 94th Foundation Course at Dr MCR HRD Institute, celebrated the
floral festival of Telangana, ‘Bathukamma’, with gaiety and reverence. The entire
campus of the Institute was decked up with vibrant flowers as a part of the
grand celebrations.
In
addition to the trainee Civil Servants, the Officers, Faculty, Staff and
trainees of the Institute participated in the celebrations in large numbers.
The proactive participation of the trainee Civil Servants from across the
country, especially their female counterparts, in the festivities was a
pleasant surprise for one and all. Singing and dancing around colourful flowers,
carefully arranged in circular rows in a brass plate, was one of the highlights
of the celebrations. The dazzling display of their colourful costumes and
dancing skills captured the hearts of every one present. All of them received
huge rounds of applause and admiration for their excellent performances.
Sri BP Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to
Government & Director General, Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana
said that the celebration of this festival is an opportunity for the trainee
Civil Servants, who come from different parts of the country, to understand the
rich culture, heritage, and values of Telangana State.
“Even
though Bathukamma is a Sate festival of Telangana, it is now being celebrated
not only across the country but also abroad. Participation in this festival,
which isan embodiment of Telangana’s rich cultural identity,was a rare honour
for all of us”, said the entire trainee Civil Servants unanimously.
The
event was organized by Film and Fine Arts Society of the 94th
Foundation Course with Miss Mohita Saxena, ISS, as its Secretary and Mr. Gokul
CV, IPoS, Miss Anusha G, IRAS, Mr Rohit Verma, IPS, and Mr. D Jeevan Mohanas,
as members.
