Srinivasa Mangapuram, 16 Oct. 19: TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal took part in Acharya Rutwik Varanam as a part of the religious ritual of Astottara Satakundatmaka Srinivasa Maha Yagam which commenced with Ankurarpanam in the famous Srinivasa Mangapuram temple on Wednesday.
RUTWIK VARANAM
Rutwik varanam is a prelude to Ankurarpanam where in Rutwiks who are going to perform the Homams will be given placements and positions at Homa Gundems.
There are over 108 Rutwiks who will perform Yaga at 108 Homa Gundas on October 17 and 18.
Earlier during the day, these Rutwiks were given Deeksha clothes which are prepared by dipping them in turmeric water which is considered sacred and will be worn by the Rutwiks only while performing rituals during these three days.
EO also observed the arrangements for the Maha Yagam. Later the Rutwiks performed Kalasa Sthapana, Kalasa Puja, Punyahavachanam were performed.
ANKURARPANAM
In the evening Ankurarpanam was performed with Viswaksena Aradhana, Medini Puja, Mritsangrahanam rituals between 4pm and 8pm.
Tirumala temple chief priest Sri Venugopala Deekshitulu, Agama advisors Sri Sundaravadana Bhattacharylu, Sri Mohanarangacharyulu, Sri Anantasayana Deekshitulu, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple Chief Priest Sri Balaji Deekshitulu, temple DyEO Sri Ellappa and others were also present.
