Dry Fruits, Roses and Aromatic Flowers Garlands Dominate Snapanam













Tiruchanoor, 24 Nov. 19: The aromatic bath, Snapana Tirumanjanam of Goddess Padmavathi on the day two of Kartika Brahmotsavams on Sunday witnessed a unique style of decoration.

This divine event was organised at the Sri Krishna swami mandapam from 12noon till 2.30 pm with special flowers, aromatic leaves, garlands made of dry fruits under the supervision of Kankana bhattar Sri Vempalli Srinivasulu.

All the rituals like Punyahavachanam, Nava kalashabisekam, etc. were performed as per the tenets of Pancharatra Agama.

Seven varieties of garlands were presented to goddess Sri Padmavathi as archakas chanted Taittireya Upanishad, Purushottama suktam, etc. Archakas used garlands made of dry fruits dates, colourful roses, gooseberry, and almonds. Similarly, Australian apple, mango, Kiwi, pomegranates, oranges, etc. were also presented as naivedyam.

Nearly 20 members of the TTD garden department had worked for two days and decorated the Sri Krishna mandapam with colourful Flowers and fruits 

Special and attractive flower decorations in the dwaja mandapam, sanctum, Sri Krishna temple, Sri Sundararajaswami temples in the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple complex had attracted and enthralled the steady crowd of devotees.

The TTD garden department had taken up the task of putting up changing Flower decorations in the temple complex once in three days for Brahmotsavams with 70 member staff.

In all during the nine days festival, 5 tons of traditional flowers and one-lakh cut flowers would be used, said Sri Srinivasulu, the Deputy Director of TTD Garden department.
