The Identity Card Distribution Unit under Devaswom Board Vigilance is the one department that works silently in every pilgrimage season. The unit is always busy issuing id cards this year as well. 7625 identity cards have been issued so far during this pilgrimage season. This ranges from government employees to devaswom employees, vendors, their workers, daily-wage workers, NGOs like Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam, Akhila Bharatiya Ayyappa Seva Sangham, journalists, Sabarimala Sanitation Society, temporary security guards, and dolly carriers. The entire identity cards of Sannidhanam and Pampa are issued from the identity card section of the Sannidhanam Festival Control Office. The cards were issued after Devaswom Vigilance SP signs it. The card is valid up to the end of this year's pilgrimage season.
The highest number of cards was issued to the daily wage-earners - 2333. The card was issued to 1858 vendors this time and 1052 government officials have also been issued with the id cards from the office. Sabarimala Sanitation Society-912, NGO-885, Dolly-84, Devaswom employees -73 and Temporary Security Guards-68, such as the number of cards issued so far this year. More than 15,000 cards are expected to be issued this season. Last time it was 13000.
From this time onwards, the identity of each employee's card can be identified by looking at the different colour tags. The government employee's card tag is blue. Orange is the colour for daily wagers. The color of the tag for vendors is green, sanitation-society workers are black, journalists-white and NGO-red. Until last time, everyone had the same colour tag.
Under Vigilance SI Manu Menon, 11 employees are in charge of card issuance from 9 am to 11 pm. The card will be issued to the government employees after they submit the application and photo in the letterhead. NGOs and others need a police clearance certificate, id card, Aadhaar number, and photo.
