Tirupati, 16 Jan. 20: The protection and promotion of Indigenous breeds of cattle is one of the topmost priorities of TTD, said EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.
The TTD Administrative Chief took part in the Gopuja Mahotsavam observed at SV Gosamrakshanasala in Tirupati on the occasion of the Kanuma festival on Thursday.
After performing Puja to Sri Venugopala Swamy and Gomata, the EO told media persons, there are about 3000 desi cattle including 1200 bulls and 1800 cows in SV Gosala of TTD. Apart from this, the State of Art of Gosala located at 450acres of a sprawling area in Palamaner has also housed many Desi breeds of cattle. "Our aim is to promote the Panchagavya products also by taking up awareness programmes to Dairy farmers in a big way soon", he highlighted.
Earlier, the Chekka Bhajans, Kolatams by HDPP artists, Annamacharya Sankeertans by the project artists enthralled the devotees who thronged with children in large numbers to catch up the spectacular event wherein different animals including Horses, Elephants etc.apart from Cows were decked colourfully to match the occasion.
TTD Trust Board members Sri DP Ananta, Sri Sekhar Reddy, Dr M Nischita, Dairy Farm Director Dr. Harnath Reddy and others were also present.
