Makaravilakku: 10 lakh tin Aravanam will be made in reserve

According to Sannidhanam Executive Officer VS Rajendra Prasad, a stock of 10 lakh tin aravana has been made in view of the demand of the devotees as part of the Makaravilakku festival. Board has made one and a half lakh of Appam also in stock. The Aravana plants in Sannidhanam have the capacity to produce two and a half lakh of Aravana every day.  The Devaswom Board has a capacity to produce up to one lakh Appam per day. Repairs to the security fences have been completed in areas where devotees increasingly concentrate on to view the Makara Jyoti. Fences have been set up at the new premises under the direction of the police. Restrictions will be imposed on the climbing of large buildings for viewing the Makara Jyothi. No person shall be allowed to cross the boundary. The executive officer said that 2,000 people can view the Makara Jyothi from the Thirumuttam
