Minister Kadakampally Surendran said that Rs 58 crore development work would be implemented in Sabarimala soon. The minister said this at a press conference held at Devaswom Guest House. There is a clear outline of the construction work to be carried out. These are projects that do not require the intervention of the Forest Department and which do not cause any environmental problems. The tender process will start soon. Barriers to the ropeway construction are expected to be cleared soon. The state government and related agencies are putting pressure on the central government for this.

Despite the increase in the number of devotees, there was peace and tranquillity in Sabarimala this season. This time, we were able to take a step further towards achieving the goal of Sabarimala free of plastic. Guru Swamis from Kerala and other states have been giving us the support to ban plastics in Sabarimala. The use of plastics has been significantly reduced in the Irumudikettu. The minister said that preparations for the next Mandala - Makara Vilakkau pilgrimage season would begin earlier.
