Tirupati, 17 Feb. 20: Sports will help in enhancing the physical and mental stamina, thereby improving dynamism and efficiency of TTD employees to render services to Lord Venkateswara and his devotees with more enthusiasm, said TTD Joint Executive Officer, Sri P Basant Kumar.
Participating as chief Guest in the valedictory ceremony of the 15-day TTD employees annual sports meet-2020 at the Mahati auditorium in Tirupati on Monday evening, the JEO said that as per State government policy TTD had prioritised the sports for employees as a Health Wellness Program and was happy that employees had cut across ranks and ages and participated in the games in a right sportive spirit.
Earlier the JEO presented prizes to children of TTD employees who enthralled the audience with fancy dress competition.
He also presented the gift vouchers and citations to winners and runner-ups of the fortnight long competitions in various event .The cash purse were ₹2000 for winners and ₹1800 for runner-ups and ₹1500 for the third place.
In all 545 persons stood first, 536 came second and 93 were in third place. A record 1174 persons (702men and 456 women) including retired employees and their family members participated.
Welfare DyEO Smt Snehalata, PRO Dr.T.Ravi, EE Sri Mallikarjuna Prasad, DE Sri Chandrasekhar and other senior officers and employees participated.
