Vontimitta, 2 April 2020: The prestigious Sri Ramanavami Brahmotsavams of the ancient, historic and TTD local temple of Sri Kodandarama Swamy at Vontimitta in YSR Kadapa district, commenced with Dwajarohanam event on Thursday morning.
The annual Brahmotsavams will last till April 11 and will be conducted in Ekantham in a simple manner as darshan activity for pilgrims in the temple is suspended as a part of corona virus precautionary initiative.
Only the temple Dyeo Sri Lokanatham, prime staff members and Archakas participated in the fete.
Earlier, as per Pancharathra Agama tradition, Dwajarohanam-the sacred flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by installing Garuda flag atop the temple pillar along with Nava kalasabhishekam invoking and inviting the galaxy of gods for the event. Sri Ramanavami festival and Sri Pothana Jayanti were also conducted
MLA PRESENTS VASTRAMS
Rajampeta MLA and TTD board member Sri Meda Mallikarjun Reddy presented Pattu Vastrams to Sri Kodandarama Swamy on his own behalf on the opening day of the ten-day fete.
SRI SITA RAMA KALYANAM ON APRIL 7
Sri Sitarama Kalyanam will be performed within the corridors of Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple on April 7 and the silk vastrams on behalf of state government will be presented for this celestial occasion. TTD has made all arrangements for the live telecast of the event on SVBC channel.
