Tirumala, 5 Jun. 20: On the occasion of World Environment Day, TTD chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy said that planting of trees was a crucial part of environmental protection activities.
Speaking to media after Planting Mahogany saplings near Swarna Tirumala Rest House, he said Lord Venkateswara had chosen His abode in Seshachala ranges which is home to enchanting flora and fauna.
He said TTD has taken up sandalwood plantation in over 100 hectares in the Seshachala forests. TTD has also taken several, innovative steps for environmental protection and preserve the wildlife and biodiversity of the regions.
TTD DFO Sri Phani Kumar Naidu, FRO Sri Shiva Kumar and other forest officials participated.
