Telangana Journalists Joint Action Committee—
(JJAC) has handed over Rs 51000 cash as financial
help to the family of corona victim journalist Manoj, on
Saturday at their residence. JAAC convener
Devarakonda Kalidas, co-convener Avvaru Raghu, core
committee members MPV Ramana, Kaparthy
Janardhan, P Prakash, I Krishna and others handed over
the cash to the victim’s mother Smt Sujatha at their
residence in madannapet. With this, JAAC has fulfilled
it’s promise made at the time of its formation. Victim’s
mother emotionalised with the gesture extended by the
JAAC. JAAC members expressed their condolences
and tried to console her.
Victim’s mother told the JAAC team that so far no help
was extended from the government or the media
channel her son worked for. JAAC convener assured
her that the issue will be taken up to the parties
concerned. Though the journalists are working putting
their lives at risk, the government is not recognising their
services and has not taken any steps for their safety.
JAAC members requested the government to support
the victim’s family immediately.
Earlier JAAC convener and the team has inaugurated
its
logo at their office in Amberpet. JAAC has made it clear that it is formed for the welfare of the local journalists and would take up their issues. JAAC members told that it is an independent body and has no political affiliationtions. JAAC wants to take the burning issues of the journalists to the Chief Minister’s notice.
