Hyderabad, July 1: “Doctors need not
get demoralised with the sporadic malign social media postings. We are all with
you. Doctors are doing an extremely commendable job in the forefront in our
fight against the Covid-19,” said Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Lauding
the efforts of the doctors and other medical fraternity, the Governor, who
herself is a doctor, stated that risking their lives and at the cost of their family life, the doctors are taking caring of the patients.
She
was interacting with the eminent doctors and superintendents of different Covid
hospitals through a video conference from the Raj Bhavan, here, on Wednesday,
on the occasion of the National Doctor’s Day.
“On
this very special occasion of National Doctor’s Day, I salute the bravery and
kind heartedness shown by the doctors and other staff who are taking care of
the patients,” Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said.
The
Governor said that she was emotionally connected to the entire doctors
fraternity and assured that the whole government machinery and administration are
with them in these testing times.
Urging
the people not to get panic at this pandemic, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan
assured the public that adequate system is in place to take care of the people.
“Given
our dense population, the Central and State governments are countering the
pandemic in an efficient way when compared to many other countries,” she added.
Referring
to the peoples’ participation in the prevention of Corona virus spread, the
Governor exhorted the people to maintain physical distance, mask wearing,
frequent hand washing and avoid gatherings which will make us to emerge out successful
in rooting out this pandemic.
Most
of the doctors who have interacted with the Governor stated that they are getting
encouraged by the kind words and gestures of Hon’ble Governor.
Similarly
many Padma award winning doctors have highlighted the importance of creating
more public awareness in the prevention of the Covid-19 spread.
They
have also extended their gratitude to the Governor for being with them always
and personally visiting them at the NIMS.
Some
of the suggestions from the doctors included; Better public awareness, strict
adherence of preventive measures, politicians avoiding public gatherings in
their visits, personal hygiene, nutritious diet, regular yoga and physical
exercise, and maintaining positive attitude.
Earlier,
the Governor offered floral tributes to the portrait of Bharat Ratna Dr. BC Roy,
whose birth anniversary is being celebrated as the National Doctor’s Day on
July 1st every year.
