First Ever Live Telecast of TTD Board Meeting







Tirumala, 28 Aug, 2020: The TTD Trust Board meeting chaired by Sri YV Subba Reddy was held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, discussed on various important issues including the conduct of twin brahmotsavams which are set in the months of September and October respectively.

 

The proceedings of the Board meeting was telecasted live on SVBC for the first time in the history of TTD to have transparency about the decisions taken in the interests of the pilgrims.

 

Excerpts from the meeting:

 

In view of Covid restrictions, it has been decided to conduct the first annual Brahmotsavams which is scheduled from September 19 till 27 will be observed in Ekantham in Srivari temple premises itself in Tirumala. Based on the existing situation during October, an appropriate decision will be taken to conduct Navarathri Brahmotsavams.

 

Srivari temples across the country to spread the glory of Lord Venkateswara. TTD will commence the construction of Srivari at Mumbai, Varanasi, Jammu, Chennai once the Covid situation turns to normalcy. The Chairman also said, the board also discussed on how the temple building activity shall be taken up in the respective places by raising funds locally involving philanthropists and enterpreneurs.

 

Maha Kumbhabhisekham event soon will be performed after relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions at Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneshwar. Board has given nod to a sum of ₹4.95 crore towards building a ghat road for the Vizag temple.

 

Plans afoot to enhance revenue on Gold and cash deposits in TTD. Efforts underway to get monthly interests credit on all deposits.

 

Employees are eligible for treatment under the Employees Health Scheme which will be covered under YSR Arogyasree scheme. Complimenting the employees who have been rendering impeccable services to pilgrims even during Covid pandemic situation, the Chairman said, instructions have already been given to TTD officials to provide quality treatment to the Covid affected employees as per the modalities presecribed by the State Government.

 

As TTD has cancelled all arjitha sevas, the devotees who booked the Udayasthamana seva will be provided VIP break darshan till the situation turns normalcy.

 

The compost fertilisers generated from the accumulated wet waste will be given to farmers on cost to cost basis. New technology for the solid waste managment in Tirumala soon and TTD Board member Smt Sudha Narayana Murthy has come forward to donate Rs. One Crore to take up the much needed process.

 

As suggested by Board Member Sri Siva Kumar, the board has also discussed on the protection of cow (Gomata) and modalities will be decided soon on how to donate one cow to each temple. The board also decided to send its recommendation for containing Cow slaughter as Cow is revered as Gomata in Hindu Dharma.

 

The issuance of 3000 free darshan tokens will be resumed at Bhudevi Complex in Tirupati from August 29. The tokens for darshan on August 30 will be issued in this Centre on Saturday as other centres at Srinivasam and Vishnunivasam are turnedout into Covid care centres. 

 

TTD Ex-officio including TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, TUDA Chairman and Ex-officio member Dr C Bhaskar Reddy, Sri K Parthasarathi, Sri Murali Krishna, Sri DP Anantha, Sri Krishnamoorthy, Sri Chippagiri Venkata Prasad, Sri K Shiva Kumar, Dr M Nichita, Smt V Prasanthi, Sri D Damodara Rao,  Special Invitee Sri Govinda Hari, Addl EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, Tirupati JEO Sri P Basanth Kumar, JEO Medical and Education Smt Bhargavi Smt Bhargavi were present. While other Board Members participated in the emergency board meeting via video conference.
