Tirumala, 23 Sep. 20: The Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy offered a pair of ‘silk vastrams’ to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy on behalf of the State Government in connection with the annual brahmotsavams on the auspicious occasion of Garuda Seva on Wednesday evening.
After a brief ceremony at Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple, the Chief Minister carried the sacred ‘vastrams’ in a silver plate over his head and proceeded towards the main temple complex amidst the chanting of Veda Mantras by priests to the melodious accompaniment of Melam and Nadaswaram. Later, he handed over the vastrams to the chief priest inside the temple and had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
These ‘vastrams’ were adorned to the deity during Garuda Seva. After offering prayers in the temple of Lord Venkateswara, the CM participated in Garuda Seva, the most important event, which occurs on the fifth day evening during the nine day brahmotsavams.
DyCM Sri Narayanaswamy, Ministers Sri P Ramachandra Reddy, Sri A Nani, Smt Suchitra, Sri Gowtham Reddy, Sri Kodali Nani, Sri Venugopala Krishna, Sri TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Board members Sri Karunakara Reddy, Sri Ananta, Sri Siva Kumar, Sri Govindhari, Sri DP Anantha, Sri Sekhar Reddy, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, Srivari temple DyEO Sri Harindranath were also present.
