Tirumala, 21 Sep. 20: On the third day evening of the ongoing nine-day annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala on Monday, the processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy, seated under the `Muthyapu Pandiri Vahanam’ blessed His devotees in Kaliya Mardhana Krishna Avatara.
In view of COVID-19 restrictions, the vahana Seva was observed at the Kalyanotsava Mandapam inside the Srivari temple.
Legend says that pearls, produce of sea, is formed when the dew and raindrops into pearl chip in the ocean. Even Srikrishna wears pearl nose rings and necklaces and also Lord Venkateswara hailed as “Alankara priya”(lover of decoration).
The 26th chapter of Padma Puranam refers to an umbrella made of pearls giving shade to Lord Vishnu. Symbolising this, Lord Malayappa flanked by His two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi graced under the pearl canopy.
TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Board members Sri Ananta, Sri Siva Kumar, Sri Govindhari, Sri DP Anantha, Sri Sekhar Reddy, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, Srivari temple DyEO Sri Harindranath were also present.
