Tirumala, 25 Sep. 20: On the evening of seventh day of the ongoing Srivari annual Brahmotsavams Sri Malayappa Swamy took out celestial ride on Chandra Prabha Vahanam as "Navaneeta Krishna"(Vennemudda Krishna).
Legends say that Chandra or the moon stands for promoting medicinal values among living beings including plants. As per the legends, Chandra is described as Lord Vishnu who as an invisible architect evolved solutions for all ills of the society.
The Bhagavat Geeta also mentions “Nakshatrana Aham Shashi” (I am the moon in the constellation) as the Lord referred Himself to Moon. The Chandra Prabha Vahanam signifies that it's very sight will provide soothing relief from all physical and mental ailments in society.
TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Board members Sri Ananta, Sri Siva Kumar, Sri Govind Hari, DP Anantha, Sri Sekhar Reddy, Dr Nischitha, Sri Krishnamoorthy, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, Srivari temple DyEO Sri Harindranath were also present.
