National Unity Day pledge to staff
Hyderabad, Oct 31: The
birth anniversary of country’s first deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai
Patel, who is known as the Iron Man of India, was celebrated as the National
Unity Day at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Saturday.
Governor Dr. Tamilisai
Soundararajan paid floral tributes to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
at a special function held at the iconic Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan.
The Governor also
administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to the officers and staff of the
Raj Bhavan.
Governor paid glowing
tributes to the contribution of Sardar Patel in ensuring the integration of all
the princely states to form the strong Indian union.
“We owe a lot to the visionary
and decisive leadership provided by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in creating a
strong and secure India by merging all the princely states in the Indian
union,” she added.
Dr. Tamilisai
Soundararajan called upon the people to relentlessly work for the unity,
integrity, and security of the country so as to create a strong and secure
India that facilitates peace and prosperity.
Advisors to the Governor,
Secretary to Governor, Joint Secretaries, and other senior officials, and staff
members were present on the occasion.
