Tirumala, 3 Oct. 20: The Union Minister for Jal Shakti Sri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had darshan of Lord Venkateswara on Saturday at Tirumala temple.
Earlier, he was accorded warm welcome by the TTD Trust Board Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy and Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy upon his arrival at the entrance of the temple.
Later the Union Minister was rendered Vedashirvachanam by Vedic pundits and was presented Srivari Thirthapsadams.
CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, Temple DyEO Sri Harindranath, Peishkar Sri Jaganmohanachary were also present.
VISIT TO PPVSM DAM
After darshan, the Union Jal Shakti Minister Sri Gajendra Singh Shekawat has paved a visit to Papavinasanam Dam in Tirumala along with the AP Irrigation Minister Sri Anil Kumar Yadav.
SE II Sri Nageswara Rao, EE Water Works Sri Srihari explained him about the status of all five projects in Tirumala and the need for Balaji Reservoir to meet the water requirements of multitude of pilgrims visiting Tirumala temple.
Speaking on this occasion he said the Centre will offer necessary support and assistance towards the construction of the Balaji Reservoir to meet the drinking water needs of the ever increasing visit of pilgrims to Tirumala. "If the state government sends a report on the TTD project, we will examine and take favourable action", he maintained.
MP Sri Mithun Reddy, Sri Kalahasti legislator Sri B Madhusudhan Reddy and others were also present.
