Hyderabad, Dec 20: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has appreciated the para-cyclists who are undertaking the Infinity Ride-2020 from Kashmir to Kanyakumari as inspirational.
“I am amazed at the spirit of
enthusiasm and bravery being shown by the para-cyclists against all odds in
embarking on Infinity Ride-2020 from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. This is truly
inspirational,” she added.
The Governor was speaking at the
flagging off ceremony for the ride at the Aditya Mehta Infinity Para Sports
Academy and Rehabilitation Centre, here.
The ride was first flagged off in
Srinagar on November19th and arrived in Hyderabad and from here it will proceed
to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. The total distance it will cover is 3,842 km.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan described
the physically challenged as not only the specially-abled but as the
superbly-abled people who are challenging the boundaries set by the society.
She appreciated the objective of
Infinity Ride-2020 that aims to reach out to the physically challenged students
across the country to raise awareness and empower them through para sports.
The Governor stated that para-sports
events inculcate the spirit of competition, team work, and sense of purpose
among the challenged people and help them overcome their limitations and
achieve more.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan specially
appreciated the tremendous work being done by the Aditya Mehta Foundation in
association with the BSF in promoting para-sports and rehabilitation of the
differently abled people.
Many were provided with prosthetics
with the active contributions from celebrities and other philanthropists alike.

Joshi, Inspector General of BSF SK Tyagi, actresses Lakshmi Manchu and Regina
Cassandra were among those who spoke at the event.
