Tirupati, 21 Jan. 21:The first meeting of the committee took pace under the Chairmanship of TTD EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy with JEO Health and Education Smt Sada Bhargavi as Convenor at EO Chambers' in the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati.
The Committee comprising of Sringeri Sarada Peetham Admin and CEO Sri Gauri Shankar, Kanchikamakoti Peetham Representative Retd. Chief Justice Sri Seetharamamurthy, Mantralaya Peetham Representative Sri Sridhar Rao, TTD Trust Board members Sri Vaidhyanathan Krishnamurthy, Sri Govind Hari, Veteran Journalist Sri K Ramachandramurthy, Social Activist Sri Bayya Srinivasulu made some recommendations on the immovable assets of TTD.
Excerpts from the meeting :
To ensure that all land assets donated by devotees to TTD should be utilised for religious activities only.
To utilize assets with small areas for setting up Goshalas for stray cattle, Gita Mandirams etc.which are useful to the local people.
To formulate strategic plans within a fixed time frame to look into these issues.
Earlier the committee members were appraised on details of TTD assets across the country from 1974-2014 through power point presentation and also on the latest status of the assets and assets pending in legal hassles etc.
It may be mentioned here that the TTD Trust Board has already resolved that the land assets donated by the Srivari devotees should never be sold away and the committee to examine feasibility of utilisation of such properties which are not viable to TTD in anyway.
During his remarks after the review meeting, TTD EO Dr Jawahar Reddy directed officials concerned to utilise the properties in such a manner not to hurt the sentiments of donors and ensure that they are utilized for spiritual activities only.
He also called for a re-examination on Lease Policy terms review of assets.
