Hyderabad, Jan 25: Governor Dr.
Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday said that the Covid-19 vaccination was
launched with an aim to give protection to frontline warriors on a priority
basis.
“The vaccination is being given not
for testing. It is for protecting our doctors, healthcare workers, and other
medical staff on a priority basis. It is like thanks giving for their services
during the pandemic,” she added.
The Governor was launching the
Covid-19 vaccination for doctors and healthcare workers at the ESI Hospital and
Medical College, here.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.
Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that it was a truly proud moment for India to
come up with our own vaccine and help many other countries by supplying our
vaccine.
“We are supplying our Made in India
vaccine to countries like Brazil, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and many other
nations. The vaccine development is a great testimony to our Hon’ble Prime
Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat getting translated into
reality,” she added.
The Governor, once again, appealed to
all the doctors, healthcare workers, and other medical professionals to get
vaccinated and not to show any vaccine-hesitancy.
“Our vaccines are safe. We have got a
reputation as being the leaders in vaccination. More than a million healthcare
professionals have already got the first dose of vaccine across the country.
Our country is witnessing the world’s largest vaccination drive at the moment.
The world is looking at us for the massive supply of vaccine for its
effectiveness and affordability. India is emerging as the Pharmacy of the
World,” Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan added.
Later, she went round the medical
exhibits exhibition at the ESI Hospital, where many innovative medical
equipments were put on display.
