Historical Sampoorna Sundarakanda Pathanam Fete Held by TTD








Tirumala, 31 May 2021: For the first time in the history of TTD, a 16-hour long non-stop Sampoor Akhanda Sundarakanda Pathanam was conducted at the Dharmagiri Veda Vijnana Peetham on Monday.

 

Nearly 40 Veda Pundits in four groups performed Pathanam of 2821 shlokas from all 68 sargas of Sundarakanda for 16 hours without interruption from 6 am to 10 pm.

 

Sri Venugopal Dikshitulu, Chief Archaka of Srivari temple said Parayanams including Sundarakanda Pathanam, Bhagavadgita, Virat Parva, Dhanvanthri Maha Yagam and other dharmic and vaidika programs are being organised by the TTD throughout the year for benefit of humanity.

 

Speaking to media later, the Principal of Dharmagiri Veda Vijnana Peetham Sri KSS Avadhani said the Sundarakanda Pathanam was taken up on the Sravana Nakshatram, the birth star of Sri Venkateswara with the objective of protecting the humanity from the pandemic Corona.

 

After chanting each shloka the pundits performed the rituals of Homa Dravya Samarpana and the entire event was live telecasted on SVBC channel for benefit of devotees to follow from their homes and beget blessings of Sri Venkateswara.

 

SVBC CEO Sri Suresh Kumar, Srivari temple DyEOs Sri Harindranath, Sri Vijaya Saradhi, Sri Loganatham, VGO Sri Bali Reddy, Catering Officer Sri GLN Shastri and other staffs were present.
