Governor conducts Virtual At Home with 75 COVID Warriors

















Hyderabad, Aug 15: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday conducted the Virtual At Home with a total of 75 COVID Warriors coinciding with the 75th Independence Day celebrations.

She said that their services were exemplary during the pandemic and saved many precious lives.

“They (COVID warriors) stood as great examples of selfless service. They risked their lives to save others. Doctors, healthcare workers, Red Cross volunteers, civil society volunteers and others have offered exemplary service,” she added.

The Governor appreciated the services of Dr. Suchitra Ella and others at the Bharat Biotech for coming out with the indigenous vaccine. She expressed confidence that their trials for nasal vaccines and vaccines for children will soon become a reality,” she added.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan called upon the people to adhere to COVID appropriate behavior and protect themselves and their loved ones. “We need to adopt healthy and better lifestyles to prevent and fight pandemics like these,” she added.

Referring to the massive collection of more than 75,000 blood units during the COVID pandemic time by the Indian Red Cross Society, the Governor appreciated their work as life-saving, especially for the Thalassemia-affected children.

The Governor specially appreciated the military units for their blood donation by organizing more than 75 blood donation camps during the pandemic.

The Governor hoped to conduct the next year’s At Home in a physical mode and hoped for the COVID-free Independence Day celebrations.

IRCS representatives Dr Prakash Reddy, Dr. Pitchi Reddy, Bharat Biotech MD Suchitra Ella, Major General Preetpal Singh, Gandhi Hospital Superintendent Dr. Raja Rao, TB Association’s Dr. Sudheer Prasad, Staff Nurse Sandhya, Lab Technician MS Murthy, Military doctor Bixapathi, GHMC Sanitation worker Mahender, Plasma Donor Dr. Rupa were among those who have interacted with the Governor through a virtual mode.

Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan and other senior officials were present.
