Vikhanasa Jayanthi and Sri Hayagriva Jayanthi Observed at Tirumala

Sri Vikhanasa Mahamuni Jayanthi was observed at Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala on Sunday evening.

Sage Vikhanasa pioneered Vaikhanasa Agama, the shastra which plays a prominent role in the majority of Sri Vaishnava temples across South Indian states for thousands of years. 

Prominent scholars participated in the spiritual discourse session organised on the occasion under the supervision of HDPP Project Officer Sri Vijayasaradhi and delivered speech on the life history and great works of Sri Vikhanasa Maharshi. 

Agama Advisor Dr Vedantam Vishnu Bhattacharyulu, Vikhanasa Trust Secretary Sri Prabhakaracharyulu, scholars Sri Divi Sreenivasacharyulu who spoke on the occasion were felicitated.

HAYAGREEVA JAYANTHI OBSERVED

Hayagreeva Jayanthi was observed by TTD at Ramachandra Pushkarini in Tirupati on Sunday under the aegis of HDPP Wing.

Sri Mahavishnu took this incarnation to restore the Vedas to Brahma, which were forcibly taken away by the demons. It was the responsibility of Lord Hayagreeiva to restore all the knowledge to the rightful place and hence He is being worshipped as the God of knowledge and wisdom. 

Every year, Hayagriva Jayanti falls on the Purnima in the  holy month of Sravana.
