TTD JEO Sri Veerabrahmam on Tuesday visited Sri Kalayana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram and negotiated with the officials of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to take up some development works in the temple.
After the inspection and negotiations with ASI and TTD officials over the pending developmental works, the JEO said, the historical temple of Srinivasa Mangapuram is considered next to Tirumala temple. "Those who could not make it for Tirumala, offers prayers in this ancient temple. It has a historical significance of Srivari Mettu footpath route which was believed to have trekked by Srivaru Himself to reach Tirumala. This temple is believed to be very auspicious for the newly wed couple and hence the deity here is being worshipped as "Sri Kalyana Venkateswara", he maintained.
The JEO said, proposals to construct Yagashala, Gosala, Kalyanakatta, Potu, Kalyana Mandapam extension, Security point etc.are being discussed. "The Engineering officials concerned are instructed to come out with an action plan within ten days", he added.
Earlier, the JEO inspected TTD Kalyana Mandapam located in the way of Srivari Mettu, rooms in Sri Krishnadevaraya Sadan, First Aid Centre for devotees in the complex, Kalyanakatta etc. He also verified the vacant space outside the temple premises to construct Kalyanakatta.
Temple DyEO Smt Shanti, ASI Official Sri Satyam, EE Sri Murali and others were also present.
