Birth Anniversary of Legendary Scholar Observed

The 135th Birth Anniversary of Sri Veturi Prabhakara Shastry, the architect who popularized Srivaru in the world of Bhakti by transcribing the Annamacharya sankeertans.

 

The life-size bronze statue of Sri Sastry at SVETA and in SV Oriental College was garlanded by Devasthanams Education Officer Sri Govindarajan.

 

Later the Principal of the college Sri Narayana Swamy Reddy presided over the meeting arranged in memory of Sri Veturi Prabhakara Sastry. Eminent speakers including Sri Venugopal, Smt Varadan Chandra, Sri Madugula Anil Kumar recalled the valuable services of the late legendary scholar.

 

Students and faculty of the college participated.
