Misconceived Campaign on TTD Over Neglect of Annamaiah - TTD Addl Eo




TTD Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy denied reports by a section of media and social media over the neglect of the place where Saint Poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya who once lived at Tirumala and said TTD held Annamaiah and his family in high esteem and given prominence to his principles of Bhakti in a big manner.

 

Addressing a media conference at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Monday evening, the TTD Additional EO said during the implementation of the master plan on Mada streets in 2003 the statues of Annamaiah and others were taken away by respective mutts etc.

 

Since the statues were not installed as per Agama shastras, they were not offered dhoop and Deepa rituals and baseless to say Balalaya was observed during the eviction of statues.

 

He said in 2007 Agama pundits had opposed installing and pujas of any idols other than Srivari idols on Mada streets.

 

The Additional EO gave ample instances of importance being given to Sri Annamacharya-

 

1.    Annamaiah ancestors daily participate in Srivari temple kainkaryars of suprabata Seva, kalyanotsava, Ekantha seva etc.

 

2.    As part of the master plan all Mutts and locals were evacuated from Mada streets and rehabilitated in other locations.

 

3. All Annamaiah successors were provided traditional honours at Srivari temple.

 

4.Two sankeertans of Annamaiah were sung during Sahasra Deepalankara seva every day.

 

5. 25 crore allocated to the Annamaiah Project established about 45 years ago.

 

6. 14,932 Annamaiah sankeertans are accessible to all common devotees today.

 

7. 25 Literary pundits are involved in vigorous research on Annamaiah sankeertans.

 

8. 4400 sankeetans have been tuned and accessible to devotees through YouTube and SVBC portals while another 1000 sankeetans will be done soon.

9.  Since1995 Annamaiah Vardhanti and Jayanti are being celebrated annually.

 

10. TTD has installed 108 feet Annamaiah statue at Tallapaka.

 

11. Very recently State government has also created an exclusive district named after Annamaiah.

 

12. In 2012 when Annamacharya successors sought installation of the Annamaiah statue on Mada Street, TTD board had rejected the demand.

 

13. The SVBC has launched programs of Annamaiah sankeertans for youth through 'Adivo Alladivo', 'Annamaiah Pataku Pattabhishekam 'etc. and created zeal among the youngsters to learn new sankeertans of Annamacharya and popularize the same among masses.

 

Annamacharya Project Director Dr A Vibhishana Sharma and others were present.
