Transfer Ancient Knowledge to Next-Gen - TTD Eo





TTD EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy said it is the bounded duty to preserve ancient knowledge and science that is treasurized in our epics and transfer it to future generations.

 

Speaking after a visit to the Oriental Research Institute at SV University on Saturday evening, the EO said TTD has shouldered the task of digitisation of archaic palm leaf documents for benefit of readers and researchers.

 

He learnt that the SV university’s institute had a treasure of 60,000 palm-leaf documents and 4000 other ancient scripts.

 

The EO asked the university vice-chancellor Acharya Raja Reddy all historic and erudite documents and compendiums in Telugu, Kannada, Sanskrit, Tamil languages comprising Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavatam, puranam, Ayurveda, etc. to be digitised for the benefit of knowledge exchange to students and researchers across the world.

 

He also said TTD will lend support to SV Oriental Institute towards digitization.

 

TTD EO also inspected the palm leaf documents digitisation and preservation process at the university.

 

JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, Director of Oriental research institute Sri Surendra Reddy, University advisor Sri Subba Reddy and other officials were present.
