TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy on Saturday directed officials to cancel tenders of cashew supplying Company for sending substandard quality of cashew for use in the Srivari Prasadam.
The Chairman who made a surprise inspection to TTD marketing godown at Tirupati on Saturday has personally inspected the quality of cashew supplied by three companies of which he found the one supplied by a company appeared broken, dusty and low quality. The TTD Chairman directed the concerned officials to cancel the tenders.
Similarly, he also inspected the supply of cardamom and on reports of lack of specification in fragrance etc. he directed them for quality check at Government labs. He also checked on ghee and found it of low quality. The Chairman also visited the spot of cashew breaking by Srivari Sevakulu and interacted with them over the quality of products, their services etc.
Sri Subba Reddy said TTD spent over ₹500 crore annually for buying cashew, ghee, cardamom and those devotees had complained of substandard, which led to his surprise visit. He directed that officials should henceforth send the materials to test not alone in TTD labs but also at central food and researchers labs.
Marketing division General Manager Sri Subramaniam and DyEO Sri Natesh Babu were also present.
