It is not only the Desi cereals, fruits, flowers, spices that sanctify their lives in the divine service, but also the apples from Japan, Grapes from Muscat, Pears from Korea, Mangoes from Thailand and Cherries from America that sailed all their way travelling thousands of kilometres from their homelands to bliss their lives in the service of Universal Lord, Sri Venkateswara.
On the second day afternoon on Wednesday, Snapana Tirumanjanam was held in Ranganayakula Mandapam. The processional deities of Sri Malayappa flanked by Sridevi and Bhudevi were seated on a special platform and were offered the sacred bath with aromatic ingredients.
The special arrangements by the Garden wing of TTD to match the occasion stood as a special attraction. Apart from decorating the stage with one ton colourful flowers, orchids, fruits, creepers, the garlands that were offered to Malayappa remained unique. For the first time, the garlands made of Finger Millet (Ragi Mala) remained a cynosure besides Green Pavitras and Coral malas which have also made their maiden way in Snapana Tirumanjanam in addition to Cardomom, Cuscus, Grapes, Tulasi garlands.
According to Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu, this year Lichis from Thailand, Australian pink and black grapes, and other fruits from various countries have been offered to the deities as Naivedyam. The decorations were specially made by florists from Chennai who worked on the magical set up for four days", he added.
HH Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy of Tirumala, TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, Temple DyEO Sri Ramesh Babu and other dignitaries, temple officials were present in the holy event that took place amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras between 1pm and 3pm.
