Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has exhorted all the people to learn the First Aid techniques to save precious lives in times of medical emergencies.
She
said that there is a need for creating better awareness about the First Aid and
challenges like CPR Challenge must be promoted in a big way.
The
Governor was speaking at the launch of Training of Master Trainers in the First
Aid, organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), at the Raj Bhavan, here,
on Tuesday.
Referring
to the importance of First Aid awareness, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said that
the Golden Hour is crucial in saving precious lives.
She
recounted her experiences in saving lives by offering the First Aid during her
journeys including the recent one in midair, when she offered the First Aid
during one of her flight journeys.
The
Governor also emphasised that it was also important to constantly update the
First Aid techniques and hone their skills.
The
Governor appreciated the initiative of the IRCS in offering training programme
for Master Trainers in the first aid.
A
total of 20 participants from different states of the country will be trained
as the Master Trainers in First Aid.
The
Governor lauded the services extended by the IRCS during the COVID pandemic.
Senior
functionaries of the IRCS and senior officers of the Raj Bhavan were present.
