The ‘Sri Ramanavami Navahnika Brahmotsavam’ got off to a grand religious start with ‘Dhwajarohanam’ at the famed Sri Kodandarama temple in Vontimitta of YSR Kadapa district on Friday.
The officiating priest (Kankanabhattar) Sri Rajesh Kumar performed a series of rituals including Garuda Dhwaja procession, Garuda Pratista, Prana Pratista, Netronmeelanam, hoisting of the sacred Garuda flag atop the temple pillar flagpost, signalling the beginning of the nine-day festival. The Garudalwar flag is a symbol of invitation to the deities of all the 14 celestial worlds to descend on the earth to witness the grand mega festival. Garuda Ragam, Garuda Melam, Garuda Talam and Garuda Slokas were recited as per Pancharatra Agama Vidhi.TTD Joint Executive Officer Sri Veerabrahmam, said TTD has made elaborate arrangements for the annual brahmotsavams and the important days includes Hanumantha Vahanam on April 03, Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 05), Rathotsavam on April 06, Chakra Snanam on April 08 and Pushpa Yagam on April 09.
He said the Honourable CM of AP Sri YS Jaganmohan Reddy will offer Pattu Vastrams on behalf of the State Government to Sri Sita Ramulavaru on the day of Kalyanotsavam on April 05. Rajampet MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy, Joint Collector Sri Saikant Verma, Trainee Collector Sri Rahul Meena, temple DyEO Sri Natesh Babu and others were present.
