Saint Poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya is rightly titled as "Padakavita Pitamaha" with the ease of Telugu literature he used in his Sankeertans which are nothing but the essence of Vedas for the sake of common man, said renowned Scholar Prof.Salaka Raghunatha Sharma of Kakinada.
Speaking at the Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati on Tuesday as part of ongoing Annamacharya Jayanti festivities, the scholar who presided over the literary session on fourth day said among the various formats of sankeertans penned by Annamacharya, Bhakti is the main subject and object. Scholars Sri Venkatacharyulu, Sri GK Sundaram also spoke on the occasion.
In the evening there will be the Annamacharya musical fiesta by Smt Suseela and her team followed by the Harikatha Parayanam by Sri Chandra Sekhar.
Annamacharya Project Director Dr Vibhishana Sharma, other staff, devotees were present.
