Long Term Plans to Avoid Ghat Road Accidents - TTD Eo to Officials

 TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy directed officials concerned to come out with long term action plans to avoid Ghat road accidents.


A review meeting by EO with the District Collector Sri Venkatramana Reddy and SP Sri Parameshwar Reddy besides senior officers from TTD was held in the Chambers of EO in TTD Administrative Building on Friday in Tirupati.


The following decisions have been taken in the meeting


1. Checkpoints to be set up in the First turning of Down Ghat Road, Seventh Mile, Alipiri Down Gate, Upghat Link Road, Natural Garuda Rock, Divyaramam 


2. Concrete Retaining Walls to be constructed in the Down Ghat similar to Upghat road.


3. To make a list of the vehicles to be restricted to ply along ghat roads 


4. Display of Accident Prevention Instruction boards at different points all along the Ghat roads 


5. Pamphlets to be printed on the speed limit, others do's and don'ts while driving along ghats 


6. Speed Guns to be installed to identify speeding vehicles along ghat roads


7. Ambulances and rescue teams to be kept ready


8. Audio on Do's and Don'ts during driving along ghat roads to be played in RTC buses plying along ghat roads for the awareness of the  public


9. Increase the number of free buses in Tirumala


10. Steps to be initiated to avoid overtaking by RTC buses in Ghat roads


11. Besides Ruia, the doctors and their team in BIRRD and SVIMS should also be attentive and ready to attend to energency accident cases if any that takes place on Ghats.
