The festival is organised as per Agama traditions to ward off the bad impact of any lapses during the year in the temple.
On the first day on June 30, the utsava idols will be offered snapana thirumanjanam in the morning followed by kalasa puja, Homas and Pavitra pratista in the evening.
On day-2 on July 1, Pavitra samarpana and yagashala puja, Homas will be held while on the last day on July 2 Maha Purnahuti, Kalasa udwasana, Pavitra samarpana will be performed followed by asthanam for all five utsava idols of Sri Kapileswawara, Sri Kamakshi, Sri Vigneswara, Sri Subramanya and Sri Chandikeswara.
