The Peethadhipathis hailing from different Peethams and Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders hailed TTD for utilising every single penny of SRIVANI funds towards the construction of temples in SC, ST, BC, fishermen and backward areas.
Addressing media persons at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Thursday, the TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy along with Peethadhipathis and VHP leaders held a media conference to counter the allegations made by some vested interests for political means on the misuse of SRIVANI funds.
Sri Raghavulu, the VHP National Joint Secretary speaking to the media said, "Our temples are the centres of Santana Hindu Dharma. In the good old days, temples used to act as the centres of Bhojanasala, Dharamasala, Vaidyasala, Vedasala, Mallasala, Yogasala and Gosala. TTD being the biggest social reformer besides its spiritual activities, has taken up various social welfare activities. Being Hindus we all should support the noble cause. Without knowing the facts we should not make baseless allegations as it would hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees. We had a fact check with respect to the alleged misuse of SRIVANI funds and were happy to inform you that every single penny is being utilized in constructing new temples and restoring the ancient ones through the SRIVANI funds", he maintained.
Sri Swaswaroopanandagiri Swamy of Lalitha Peetham, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Sri Virajananda Swamy of Brahmamgari Mutt, Kadapa, Sri Durgaprasada Swamy, Hanumat Peetham, Hyderabad speaking to media said following the recent allegations about the misuse of SRIVANI funds, to clarify our doubts as Srivari devotees, we came to Tirumala and met the TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy. After going through the details of Bank Accounts and temples constructed under SRIVANI Trust funds provided by TTD, we are happy to assert that there is absolutely no misappropriation of funds. If anyone has any doubts, before making baseless allegations, we appeal to them to come and know the facts. Otherwise, it would impact on the sentiments of common devotees which is not good to our own religion", they alarmed.
Later Sri Ramanjaneyulu, the MD of Solis Eye Care, Hyderabad, said "As a common devotee, I have been coming for Darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy from the past four decades. I also had darshan under SRIVANI many times. Before going through the Account details even I had many doubts about the misuse of funds. But now I am immensely satisfied that every single paisa of devotees donated to this Trust is being utilized in the construction of temples in backward areas by TTD", he maintained.
TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy reiterated that devotees who have any doubts pertaining to the utilization of SRIVANI Trust funds shall approach TTD and get the details. He appealed to them not to fall prey to baseless allegations. "In the last four years, over 8.25lakh people had darshan in both online and offline through SRIVANI Trust. As alleged by some persons, is it possible to cheat these devotees without giving proper receipts? Will the devotees sit quiet if don't give them the correct receipts? A Trust is usually formed with many norms and guidelines. We are generating separate receipts for donation and darshan tickets. One should think carefully before making such baseless allegations otherwise it would hurt millions of devotees", he cautioned.
