Chennai Umbrellas Reach Tirumala






Chennai umbrellas presented by the Hindu Dharmarta Samiti for decorating the Garuda Vahana procession during the Srivari Brahmotsavam on September 22, reached Tirumala on Thursday morning.


The Samiti trustee Sri RR Gopalji who accompanied the umbrellas presented them to TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy in front of the Srivari Temple.


The umbrellas were paraded on the Mada streets ahead of being taken inside the temple for decorating them during Garuda Vahana.


Speaking on the occasion Sri Gopalji said that all 11 umbrellas were brought from Chennai and the procession began on September 16 after special pujas at Sri Chennakeshava Perumal temple of which 2 umbrellas were presented to Sri Padmavati Ammavaru temple in Tiruchanoor on Wednesday.


The umbrellas are being presented to Tirumala since 19 years for decorating during the Garuda Vahana.


DyEO of Srivari temple Sri Lokanathan and other officials were present.
