Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam Held at Srivari Temple










The traditional fete of Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam( temple cleansing exercise ) was performed at Srivari Temple on Tuesday morning in view of upcoming annual Brahmotsavams beginning from September 18-26.


Speaking on the occasion the TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said all arrangements were made to ensure that pilgrims coming for Brahmotsavam fete are not put to any sort of inconvenience.


He said the holy temple cleansing program was performed four times a year ahead of important festivals like Ugadi, Anivara Asthana, Brahmotsavam and Vaikunta Ekadasi.


The program was observed from 6.00 am - 11.00 am and all sub-temples in the complex, Potu, walls and rooftops, all puja materials were cleansed with perfumed water, and a mixture called Parimalam.


Thereafter the veil covering the Mula Virat was removed special silks were adorned, special pujas performed and naivedyam offered before allowing pilgrims for darshan.


TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy,TTD board members Sri Subbaraju ,Sri Tippeswami , CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore,DLO Sri Veeraju ,SE- 2 Sri Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Dyeo Sri Lokanatham were present.
