TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy on Thursday reiterated that TTD will roll out every security and vigilance measures towards the safety and protection of devotees along the Srivari Mettu and Alipiri footpaths without any compromise on their well-being during their pilgrimage to Tirumala.
Addressing media persons after inspection of security arrangements at Sri Narasimha Swami temple and visiting a trapped leopard along with the forest and TTD officials, the Chairman said the fifth wild cat was captured during wee hours and its capture was an indication of TTDs resolve and commitment on safeguarding the footpath devotees at any cost.
He said Operation Chirutha under the supervision of TTD and state forest officials with a forest staff of 300 will continue.
Till now two kids were attacked of which one died. Thereafter the TTD has been sending devotees in a group of 100 on the footpaths with a security guard and a hand stick to everyone as a symbol of confidence.
Devotees with children are barred from trekking after 2 pm keeping in view their safety.
TTD JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, Deputy CF Sri Srinivasulu, DFO Sri Satish Reddy, VGO Sri Bali Reddy, AVSO Sri Satish and other officials were present.
