Peruveta Utsavam Held With Religious Jubilation in New Madapam
















The grand "Mock Hunting Festival" that takes place on the day immediately after the Navaratri Brahmotsavams was observed with utmost religious fervour and elation in the newly renovated ancient centuries-old Paruveta Mandapam on Tuesday evening.


Speaking on the occasion, the TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy told the media persons, for the first time, the Paruveta Utsavam is being observed in the newly renovated Paruveta Mandapam which is more spacious and convenient for the devotees to witness the grandeur of Sri Malayappa Swamy. 

The Chairman said, the age-old Paruveta Mandapam was renovated in a much comfortable and spacious manner which is appreciated by the devotees. He said, when the ancient mandapam was about to collapse, it was renovated by the TTD Engineering officials under the instructions of TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy keeping in view both the convenience of performing the religious festival as well as the devotees.

"But it is so heart-rending when some persons make baseless allegations without knowing the facts for their personal and political mileage. All the officials and staff who are working in TTD are discharging their duties and responsibilities in the larger interests of the pilgrim devotees only. So, I appeal to those who are making baseless allegations to check the true facts as it is related to the sentiments of millions of devotees. Today, the devotees have expressed immense satisfaction and I am sharing the same with you all", he maintained.

TTD EO Sri A V Dharma Reddy said the Paruveta Utsavam was held with utmost religious fervour in the newly renovated Mandapam. "We performed Jeernodharana and reconstructed the Mandapam at the same place as it is replicating the previous structure, taking photographs of each pillar, mandapam structure etc. Today the devotees have witnessed the festival with more satisfaction", he added. 

Earlier, Sri Malayappa Swamy was brought from the Tirumala temple in a grand procession, and seated on the special platform in the Paruveta Mandapam. The artists of the Annamacharya Project rendered Annamacharya Sankeertans in a befitting in the manner with the famous notes like Vedamule Nee Nivasamata Vimala Narasimha, Kondalalo Nelakonna, Narayanate Namo Namo etc. While the Veda Parayanamdars rendered Mantras from religious texts matching the occasion. 

Later Sri Malayappa Swamy who appeared as Panchayudhamurthy wearing all sorts of weapons including Sword, Mace, Spear, Bow and Arrow besides Conch and Disc went for the mock Hunt and on behalf of the Sri Malayappa Swamy varu TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy along with Archaka Sri Ramakrishna Deekshitulu threw the spear thrice recreating a wild beast hunt which was enjoyed by the devotees.

Later the processional deity of Sri Malayappa returned to the temple. TTD has cancelled all the arjitha sevas for the day following the festival.

CE Sri Nageswara Rao, SE 2 Sri Jagadeeshwar Reddy, EEs Sri Jaganmohan Reddy, Sri Srihari, Temple DyEO Sri Lokanatham, Health Officer Dr Sridevi, DE Electrical Sri Ravishankar Reddy, VGOs Sri Bali Reddy, Sri Giridhara Rao, DyCF Sri Srinivasulu and others were present.
