Palm Leaf Edicts are Our Treasures - TTD Eo

TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy exhorted the officials to utilize latest technologies so that the knowledge treasure of our ancestors is digitized for the benefit of future generations. 


He was reviewing the progress of the Manuscript Project with the Vice Chancellor and officials of SV University and SV Vedic University on Wednesday at his chambers. 


Speaking on the occasion the EO said that centuries ago our ancestors had stored valuable knowledge on literature, scientific and technology in palm leaf documents. 


Many such documents were handed over to SV Oriental Research Institute which should be digitized in coordination by both the universities.


He said TTD will provide all equipment like scanners and the documents would be returned by the manuscript projects  Institute after digitization. The information gathered after digitization will be published by TTD in the form of a book for the benefit of students and researchers. 


SV University Vice-chancellor Dr Raja Reddy said the university extends all its cooperation toward the project. 


TTD JEO (H&E) Smt Sada Bhargavi, SV Vedic University VC Aacharya Rani Sadasiva Murthy, Registrar Aacharya Radhe Shyam, Manuscripts Special Officer Smt Vijayalakshmi, SVU Oriental Research Institute Director Dr Venkateswarulu and others were present.
