Governor's Pilgrimage to Medaram: A Celebration of Indigenous Culture

























Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor of Telangana, embarked on her third visit to the revered Medaram Jathara on Friday, immersing herself in the vibrant culture of tribal tradition and spirituality. The biennial  Medaram Jathara stands as the largest  tribal fair in the nation, drawing devotees and participants from far and wide.

In a display of reverence, Governor Dr.Tamilisai paid homage to Sammakka Saralamma, the revered deities of the region, offering prayers and traditional sarees as tokens of respect. Embracing the essence of the occasion, she partook in sacred rituals, symbolizing the harmony between ancient customs and contemporary reverence.

Speaking to the gathered media, Governor Dr. Tamilisai expressed her prayers for the prosperity of both the nation and the state. She extended heartfelt wishes to the tribal communities, lauding the Medaram Jathara as an unparalleled testament to indigenous culture and heritage.

Emphasizing the imperative of safeguarding indigenous traditions, Governor underscored the importance of preserving and promoting the rich cultural traditions of tribal societies. She outlined initiatives aimed at holistic development, including the adoption of six tribal villages and efforts to enhance the nutritional well-being of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups.
