Three-day refresher classes for priests working in TTD temples under the auspices of Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy (SVETA) started at SV Vedic University, Tirupati on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Acharya Rani Sadashivamurthy, the Vice-Chancellor of SV Vedic University said that the Agamas were actually taught by the Almighty Himself and requested that priests should be traditionally ordained in temples as mentioned in Agamas. He said that such refresher classes would greatly contribute to the strengthening of the priesthood system.
Sri Subrahmanya Reddy, Director of the SVETA, said that through such refresher classes, priests can acquire mastery. He asked them to make use of the training classes so that the devotees would be satisfied by knowing the mysterious things embedded in Vaikhanasa Agama.
He said that refresher classes will also be conducted for Pancharatra and Saivagama priests.
Sri Venugopala Deekshitulu, one of the Chief priests of Tirumala Srivari Temple, told how to perform Pooja Kainkaryams with devotion. Priests should follow the traditions and stand as exemplary to the society. He informed that through such refresher classes, the skill of the priests will increase further.
