TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said on Thursday that TTD will make full efforts to popularise the Sankeertans of Sri Sarangapani which extolled glory and divinity of Sri Venugopal Swamy, an incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu.
Launching the Sarangapani Project along with renowned veteran playback singer, Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr P Sushila at the SVETA Bhavan, also released a CD on Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Dvipada on Sri Bhagavatam.
Speaking on the occasion the TTD Chairman said the 17th-century poet and Carnatic sangeet exponent Sri Sarangapani had penned over 5000 devotional songs in Telugu and Sanskrit. The project aimed at choreograph and voice these sankeertans.
Among others he said the last TTD board meeting had resolved, to conduct daily sankeertans at Galigopuram, Mokalimettu and 7th mile junctions. Nitya Sankeertans at Vengamamba Brindavana, and training to all TTD temple staff from all over the country at SVETA.
Thereafter Dr P Susheela performed some sankeertan in her melodious voice and enthralled music lovers in Tirupati.
Sri Bhumana Subramanyam Reddy SVETA Director hailed the role Sri Sarangapani in penning sankeertan which saw light after 300 years and TTD commitment to popularise them.
SVBC Chairman Sri Saikrishna Yachendra and several music and literary figures were present.
